Weekly News 1/26/18

The data families submitted for the STMS Alerts has been submitted to the Wayne County Emergency Management System.    Not only will school closings be sent through this system, this system will be used to alert you to other school events.  We had a test run of this system this past week and it was successful.  If you did not submit your info to the school and still want to be part of this group, you can register by going to http://entry.inspironlogistics.com/stmaryschool_oh/wens.cfm.  This link will be available on the school website under the parent tab. 

Update to St. Mary School Uniform Policy:  Hoodies with the St. Mary School logo can now be worn in the classroom.  These can be those purchased through the fall spirit wear sale or those now available through our online spirit wear store (link available on the school website under the parent tab).  These are the ONLYhoodies that can be worn in the classroom. 

Catholic Schools Week is fast approaching!  Following is a list of events.

 

  • Monday, January 29 is Spirit Day and Crazy Hair Day!  Wear a spirit wear shirt with your uniform bottoms and amaze us with your crazy hair!
  • On Tuesday, January 30, we will have the volleyball tournaments.  Grades 4-8 face off and then the staff plays the winner of 6th vs 7/8 game!
  • Wednesday, January 31 please join us for the presentation: Tracking the Present, Visioning the Future of St. Mary School.  We will come together in the school activity center at 7:00 p.m.  All parents are highly encouraged to attend as we will be providing updated information about Catholic school funding, financial aid options, technology and future planning for St. Mary School.  This event is “adults only.”
  • On Thursday, February 1, Dr. Seifried’s religion classes (grades 4-8) will be celebrating the Feast Day of St. Thomas Aquinas.  He will be providing his students with additional details.
  • Friday, February 2 will be the annual St. Mary’s You’ve Got Talent Show at 1:00 p.m. in the Activity Center.  Parents, please feel free to bring a lunch and join your student for lunch prior to the show!
  • Catholic Schools Week will be celebrated at 5:00 p.m. Mass on Saturday, February 3.  We hope that many of our school families will attend.  Dress down passes will be given to students in attendance.  Meet Mrs. Marvin in the Parish Hall after Mass.

 

Remember to purchase your Mardi Gras tickets.  Mardi Gras is Friday, February 9.  Tickets will be $30 until February 3, after that they are $40.  For more ticket information, please contact Teresa Elwood at 330-465-5390 or tlc7701@gmail.com

It is time to order your yearbook!  Order forms are being sent home with the students or you can order online at   YBPAY.LIFETOUCH.COM  by using the yearbook ID code   11649218.     Order deadline is March 16, 2018.
