Weekly News 12/1

Wednesday, December 13 will be the school’s Christmas Program.  Students will need to be in their classroom at 6:30 p.m. and the program will begin at 7:00 p.m.  Mrs. Selvaggio’s letter with dress requirements and other miscellaneous details is attached. i

The school directory is being sent home with the youngest student in your family today.  Please be looking for it.

We have been issuing dressdown passes for random reasons.  Just a reminder that students must follow the dressdown uniform policy when they use their pass.

Dressdown passes may NOT be used on Wednesday when we attend Mass.

The Dressdown Uniform Policy follows:

  • All clothes MUST fit and be sized appropriately; neither too tight or revealing or too loose or sagging.
  • Appropriate items include jeans (no rips), cargo pants, capri pants, shorts no more than four (4) inches above the knee, sweatshirts or t-shirts with appropriate printing, sandals with a strap behind the heel; leggings/jeggings allowed only IF the shirt worn with outfit is no more than four (4) inches above the knee.
  • NOT appropriate: flip flops (shoes made of foam), inappropriate slogans, sayings, pictures or topics on clothing, excessively long pants (reaching over the shoes), tank tops, yoga/exercise pants, dresses that are strapless, have spaghetti straps, or are more than four (4) inches above the knee.

The staff had an inservice with Emergency Management.  At that meeting the police department asked us to adopt the following procedure:  Parents, if you are waiting in the lobby please do NOT open the exterior doors for anyone.  All are required to be “buzzed in” by the office or admitted directly by staff members only.  Also, when you are entering the building please do NOT hold the door for the next person.  Please see that the door closes behind you.  Although this all sounds “rude” or “unfriendly”, it is a necessary procedure to ensure your child’s safety as there may be situations that one is not aware of.

Preschool/Daycare families:  please ring the “Daycare/Preschool” button on the keypad.  If the preschool/daycare staff are unable to answer and admit you, use the “Main Office” button during regular office hours or the “Teacher’s Lounge” button over the lunch hour (12:00-12:35 p.m.).  Any time you are admitted by ringing the Main Office or the Teacher’s Lounge, you will be required to sign in and out in the school office.

Remember to call the school office (330-262-8671) or email Mrs. Weyer at stm_weyer@tccsa.net to report your student absent when he/she is ill or will be late to school.
