Congratulations go out to Judith, the Second Grade Student of the Week! Definitely the pride of Mrs. Westover's classroom, no doubt! Fantastic performance! Way to go! As one would say back in the 1980s, totally awesome to the max!
The St. Mary School Scholastic book fair will be Wednesday, October 22 from 8:30 am-9:00 pm and Thursday, October 23 from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday, October 26 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The theme this year is "Sir Readalot's Castle: Enter the Kingdom of Books!"

If you can't make it in to the school to shop at the book fair, there is an online shopping option. This will be available from Friday, October 17 - Tuesday, October 28. Please be aware that books ordered online are shipped directly to the school and will be distributed to students through their classroom teachers. (You must have a student attending St. Mary's day school to use this option.) There is no shipping fee but you will have to pay sales tax. Thank you.

A very special event will take place during our book fair this year. Marlane Kennedy is a local author who has written two new books that will be available at our fair. She will also be at our book fair on Wednesday, October 22 from 6-7pm to sign her books purchased at the book fair! We hope you can make it. Here is a link to a video preview of one of her books: Disaster Strikes: Earthquake Shock (AR reading level: 4.6)
The St. Mary School S.S.O. graciously obtained a program for the students called "Rachel's Challenge" which was presented to them on October 7th. Students learned about using kind word, doing nice things, and including others to create a "chain reaction" of kindness in our school. There will be ongoing activities throughout the year to reinforce these concepts, and students will be making an actual paper chain which will include all of our acts of kindness!
